RioPlex
Where the Future meets the Border.
RioPlex is a binational nonprofit initiative that promotes economic development, trade, and investment across South Texas (including Hidalgo, Cameron, Willacy, and Starr counties) and Northern Tamaulipas (including Matamoros and Reynosa). Rather than providing commercial business services, it functions as a regional coalition and marketing platform.
Regional Economic Promotion:
• Global Investment Attraction: Markets the border region as a unified, competitive hub for international business and industrial growth.
• Data and Resource Sharing: Provides regional data, infrastructure insights (airports, seaports, bridges), and opportunity mapping via its digital platform.
• Collaboration with EDCs: Works alongside local Economic Development Corporations to amplify cross-border business expansion efforts
RioPlex is an industrial-economic development initiative uniting the Rio Grande Valley, Texas and northern Tamaulipas. It is a collaboration between the business sector, government, and the nonprofits of the Rio Grande Valley, aimed at promoting the region's economic potential, innovation, and attracting beneficial investments. RioPlex serves as a catalyst for strengthening industrial ties between Mexico and the United States.
